Today Tonight Tomorrow

By: Rachel Lynn Solomon

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS

Today, she hates him.

It’s the last day of senior year. Rowan Roth and Neil McNair have been bitter rivals for all of high school, clashing on test scores, student council elections, and even gym class pull-up contests. While Rowan, who secretly wants to write romance novels, is anxious about the future, she’d love to beat her infuriating nemesis one last time.

Tonight, she puts up with him.

When Neil is named valedictorian, Rowan has only one chance at victory: Howl, a senior class game that takes them all over Seattle, a farewell tour of the city she loves. But after learning a group of seniors is out to get them, she and Neil reluctantly decide to team up until they’re the last players left—and then they’ll destroy each other.

As Rowan spends more time with Neil, she realizes he’s much more than the awkward linguistics nerd she’s sparred with for the past four years. And, perhaps, this boy she claims to despise might actually be the boy of her dreams.

Tomorrow…maybe she’s already fallen for him.

MY REVIEW

Today Tonight Tomorrow is a sweet love letter to Seattle as well as to true love! Rowan Roth is intent on having the best last day of senior year. High school has been marked by a rivalry between her and her classmate Neil McNair. They have been clashing over test scores, elections, and everything in between. Now, on the last day of school, Rowan hopes to win valedictorian over Neil. Until she doesn’t. Her only chance now is to beat Neil in one last game. Howl, a senior-class competition taking them all around Seattle. Rowan is an amazing character and brings a spark to the book! She is a romance book reader who feels no one around her understands. Since she was a kid she has loved sweet rom-coms that bring joy to your heart, and now, she is secretly writing her own. Rowan’s love for romance books may even rival mine. She is a witty and delightful character! Throughout the book, I especially loved her relationship with Neil. Neil is a sweet and deep character. He has many layers that are revealed in the book. He has a tough family life and covers it up behind his smirk. The book uncovers how Neil and Rowan have secretly been obsessed with each other. It's so secret they didn’t even know about it! The author explores how they have been falling in love with each other throughout the four years of high school. The book also goes into how she has been caught up in being the best she has ignored her friends, Mara and Kirby. She has blown them off many times just to beat Neil. This furthered the thoughts of her being “obsessed” with Neil. I loved this layer of their relationship! It added a sense of depth to the story and provided insight into how they had really been feeling. Overall, this was an amazing book! I finished it in only a quick sitting! I would rate it 4/5 stars!
